AXOarchitecture began in January 2019 with Andrea van Niekerk as sole proprietor to fill a niche market in Kelowna and interior BC communities for small to medium sized buildings that require an architect. She became a Registered Architect with the Architectural Institute of BC in July 2012.

After graduating in December 2000 with a Master’s degree in Architecture from McGill University, (Montreal, Quebec), she worked briefly in Montreal before heading over to London, England. Following 4 years of travel and working for Reardon Smith Architects, known primarily for hospitality and hotel architecture, she returned to Kelowna in August 2005. Her previous work experience includes working for Faction Architecture and Bluegreen Architecture.
